Wyatt Collins turned in a dominant performance at Langley Speedway on Wednesday night, steering the #23 machine to victory in Round 6 of the Old Guy Racing League Legends Series. Collins, who started fourth, led 34 of the race's 40 laps to take the checkered flag ahead of #16 Mitchell Williams and #74 Clark Wolfe. The win is Collins' fourth of the season in the series, and he did so cleanly, posting zero incidents across the 40-lap distance — one of seven drivers on the night to keep their record spotless.
Pole sitter Charlie Stutzman in the #18 held the point early and led the opening two laps, accounting for the race's lone lead change before Collins took over at the front. Stutzman's night unraveled from there, as he accumulated 14 incidents across the 40 laps and fell back to a seventh-place finish after starting from the top spot — a swing of six positions in the wrong direction. One spot behind Stutzman was #32 Mat Harvey in eighth, and #00 Josh Harvey rounded out the top nine, both having started inside the top three but sliding back six positions each by the finish.
Mitchell Williams delivered the hard charger effort of the evening, charging from his seventh-place starting spot all the way to a second-place finish in the #16 — a gain of five positions. Williams' run wasn't without cost, as he collected four incidents along the way, but the result was a strong one for the series veteran, who now has ten all-time wins in this series including this season's efforts. Clark Wolfe in the #74 completed the podium with a clean run, advancing three spots from sixth to third and recording zero incidents on his way to a 46-point night.
In the standings, Collins' victory extends his points advantage to 21 over Williams at 326 to 305, with the two clear of a tightly packed battle behind them. Clark Wolfe sits third at 224 points, Ron Walters fourth at 223, and Charlie Stutzman fifth at 221 — a three-way fight separated by only three points heading into the rounds ahead. Collins is firmly in control of the standings, but Williams, with nine all-time wins in the series and now two this season, remains very much in the conversation as the league race continues.
