Mitchell Williams turned in a dominant performance at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway on Tuesday night, taking the win from the pole in Round 7 of the OGRL Old Guy Racing League ARCA Series. Starting from the front and leading 118 of 150 laps, Williams in the #16 machine was the class of a 14-car field that navigated five cautions covering 20 laps. It was Williams' second win of the season and the tenth of his all-time career in this series, a result that moves him to the top of the standings with 188 points.
Javier Zapata delivered the strongest drive through the field on the night not counting the hard charger award, bringing the #10 from eighth on the grid all the way to second at the checkered flag. Zapata, who collected 35 points on the evening, showed clean, incident-free racing with just two incidents across 150 laps — a performance that keeps him in the title fight at fourth in the standings with 159 points. Harold Rothery rounded out the podium in the #7, advancing two spots from his fifth-place starting position. For Rothery, it was a notable result — his first podium of the season and in this series, earning 35 points to keep his name relevant in the standings conversation.
The hard charger award belonged to Brent Just in the #93, who launched from 13th on the grid and carved his way to fifth by the finish — a gain of eight positions across 150 laps and five restarts. Just's effort came at a cost, however, as his 10 incidents were among the higher totals of the evening. Still, the result netted him 32 points and keeps him within striking distance of the top five in the standings. At the back of the ledger, Wyatt Collins had a difficult night in the #23 — he led 31 laps from his second-place starting position but fell all the way to ninth by the finish, surrendering seven spots and logging 12 incidents. Collins sits third in points at 169, but a 19-point gap to Williams at the top will feel larger after letting laps led convert into a mid-pack result.
The OGRL ARCA Series standings entering the next round show Williams atop the order at 188 points, with Brandon Cowell just two points behind at 186 after his sixth-place finish in the #85. That gap is razor-thin, and with Wyatt Collins sitting third at 169, Javier Zapata fourth at 159, and Richard Modrich fifth at 155, the points battle remains wide open with multiple drivers still mathematically close enough to force their way into the conversation. Williams has momentum, but nothing is settled in this series.
