At Langley Speedway on Wednesday night, #16 Mitchell Williams took the checkered flag in Round 5 of the Old Guy Racing League Late Model Stock Series, converting a second-place starting spot into a victory and banking 65 points in the process. Williams led 34 of 50 laps on the night, though the win was anything but straightforward — six cautions shuffled the running order repeatedly across the event, and five lead changes kept the outcome in question for much of the race. Williams, who now has two wins on the season and 22 all-time in the series, left Langley as the clear points leader with 255 to his credit.

Pole sitter #72 Clyde Cunfer had the early say, leading 10 laps from the front row before ultimately fading to a fourth-place result. It was a tough night for the #72 team, which started where every driver wants to be and left without the finish to match. #23 Wyatt Collins rebounded from his fifth starting spot to claim the runner-up position, adding to his one prior win this season. #29 Bradley Lovings rounded out the podium in third, climbing three positions from his sixth-place starting spot — a solid result for a driver still seeking his first win of the 2026 campaign.

The hard charger award belongs to #1 Robert Sackett, who wheeled his machine from 15th on the grid all the way to eighth at the finish, gaining seven positions across 50 laps. Sackett collected 36 points on the night for his efforts, though his 14 incident points suggest it wasn't a clean run — just an effective one. On the cleaner side of the ledger, three drivers — Williams, Cunfer, and #74 Clark Wolfe — finished the night without a single incident. Wolfe's own charge from 10th to fifth was one of the quieter stories of the evening, earning 42 points without so much as a scratch.

With five rounds now complete, Williams holds a 41-point cushion over #21 Jacob Carter in the standings, but Carter's night was a disaster — the #21 fell nine positions from third on the grid to finish 12th, with 26 incident points dragging him down the running order. Cunfer sits third at 208 points, just six back of Carter, making the gap between second and third razor-thin heading into the next round. #99 Ron Walters sits fourth at 196 points after recovering from 14th on the grid to finish ninth, while Collins' runner-up run vaults him to fifth in points at 190. The title fight is very much alive across multiple cars.
