Round 3 of the OGRL Old Guy Racing League BMW M2 series at Virginia International Raceway belonged to #074 Ric Wishon, who converted a second-place starting spot into a race victory, leading 9 of the 12 laps around the demanding VIR circuit. With two lead changes recorded across the race, #6 Alex Bishop held the advantage early from pole position, with #10 David Tamira's pair of laps at the front also interrupting Wishon's grip on the race, but neither could sustain the challenge. Wishon crossed the line to claim 33 points, his third win of the season in this series.

Behind Wishon, Tamira brought the #10 home in second place after starting third, earning 28 points despite accumulating 4 incidents across the 12 laps. #929 Uwe Hale rounded out the podium in third, advancing two positions from his fifth-place start in a race where not a single driver completed the afternoon without an incident on the books — the incident sheet running from Wishon's single mark all the way to 10 apiece for #3 Rick Mogstad and #99 Ron Walters.

Mogstad earned hard charger honors by gaining four positions across the race, climbing from tenth on the grid to sixth at the flag. The charge came at a cost — those 10 incidents were the joint-highest of any driver in the field alongside Walters — but the result delivered 20 points for the #3 car. Meanwhile, pole-sitter Alex Bishop endured the toughest afternoon, falling nine positions from first to tenth by the checkered flag, accumulating 7 incidents and contributing only a single lap of race leadership to his tally.

In the standings, Wishon now leads with 33 points, four clear of Camron Frederick in second on 29. Bishop's difficult race drops him to third on 28 points, level with Tamira in fourth, while Uwe Hale's podium finish moves him to fifth on 25. With three drivers within eight points of the lead after just three rounds, the BMW M2 title fight is wide open heading into the next event.
